Jennie joined the City of East Ridge Animal Services team in November 2024, bringing more than 20 years of experience in animal welfare and veterinary care. She previously served as a Veterinary Assistant for over two decades, gaining extensive knowledge in animal health, behavior, and community education.
Prior to her veterinary career, Jennie spent two years working in a shelter environment at McKamey Animal Center, where she discovered her passion for helping shelter animals and connecting them with loving families. Her background allows her to combine hands-on animal care with a strong commitment to outreach and education.
As Supervisor of East Ridge Animal Services, Jennie is dedicated to expanding the shelter’s outreach programs, promoting animal enrichment initiatives, and providing the community with resources on proper pet care, including support for animals experiencing anxiety or illness. She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment for volunteers and ensuring the shelter serves both animals and residents with compassion and professionalism.
Outside of the shelter, Jennie enjoys spending time with her husband, Kevin, gardening, hiking, and making memories with her family. Her love for animals and their well-being extends beyond her work and into every part of her life.

Volunteers for East Ridge Animal Shelter's "Dog of the Week" will feature this dog throughout the City of East Ridge on Saturdays. Volunteers will be allowed to take him/her out to different pet friendly venues to promote their adoption.
East Ridge Animal Services welcomes anyone interested in volunteering at the shelter to contact us during business hours to set up arrangements. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Volunteers 16 and older must provide their own form of transportation to volunteer.
